Marunouchi Crossing 2024, a Festival of Innovation

Uzabase, Inc.(Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Yusuke Inagaki, Representative Director, Co-CEO/CTO; Koh Sakuma, Representative Director, Co-CEO; hereinafter “Uzabase”), with special support from Mitsubishi Estate Co. (President and CEO: Atsushi Nakajima; hereinafter referred to as “Mitsubishi Estate”), will hold “Marunouchi Crossing 2024” on Wednesday, December 4, 2012, under the theme of creating new businesses, open innovation, and other innovations by major corporations.
The “TMIP Innovation Award” will be presented at the event by Tokyo Marunouchi Innovation Platform (TMIP), an open innovation platform that aims to support new business creation by large corporations and create businesses through collaboration between large corporations, startups, industry, government, academia, and the city.

Marunouchi Crossing 2024” is a one-day event exploring the present and future of open innovation in Marunouchi, Tokyo. How to create the fruits of co-creation after repeated deepening and exploration? Innovation managers, corporate planning and business unit heads from large corporations, and CXOs from startups will gather to discuss specific examples and measures to accelerate the evolution of Japan’s innovation ecosystem.

Concept and Program
Marunouchi Crossing 2024” will provide a venue for innovative ideas from a diverse range of players, including large corporations, start-ups, academia, and government. This year’s theme is “Co-Creation and Fruition,” exploring how to produce the fruits of co-creation after repeated deepening and exploration. Innovation officers from large companies, corporate planning and business unit heads, and CXOs from startups will gather to discuss specific examples and measures to accelerate the evolution of Japan’s innovation ecosystem.

Program 1: Session & Pitch (Marunouchi Building “Marunouchi Building Hall”)
Co-creation and fruition. Industry pioneers who are well versed in domestic and international trends will discuss the theme of open innovation. Reverse Pitching will also be held to help leading innovation companies be “chosen” by future collaborators and customers. Mitsubishi Estate’s CVC “BRICKs Fund Tokyo” and other business companies will introduce their visions for co-creation and specific initiatives.

Program 2: TMIP Innovation Award (Marunouchi Building “Marunouchi Building Hall”)
The “TMIP Innovation Award” will be presented to a large corporation in recognition of “an outstanding example of a company’s efforts to create new value and businesses that transcend internal and external barriers. The awards will provide hints to those who are striving for innovation, marketability, social impact, and management of business creation.

This is an invitation-only program for those responsible for innovation in large companies. Focusing on the promotion of open innovation that leads to fruitful results, the program will discuss the state of innovation management.

Program 4: Networking (User Base Head Office, Otemachi Building “FINOLAB”, Shin Tokyo Building “Shin Tokyo 4TH”, Shin Otemachi Building “0 Club”)
Networking sessions by theme, such as startups and business development, will be held at multiple venues in the Marunouchi area. Because these events are held in real time, we aim to create opportunities for participants to meet new people and interact with each other in line with their interests and objectives, and to create opportunities that will lead to the next step in their development.
