Tokyo Marunouchi Innovation Platform (Office: TMIP Association), recognizes the importance of your personal information and is committed to the appropriate handling and protection of your personal information in accordance with our basic privacy policy.

1. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

TMIP collects and uses personal information for the following purposes in order to contribute to the formation of an innovation ecosystem and the creation of new businesses in the Otemachi/Marunouchi/Yurakucho district and surrounding areas, as well as to the sustainable industrial development of Japan.

Advertising and publicity for the companies co-sponsoring the event and the companies to which the speakers belong, sales activities (sales activities include sending direct mail, pamphlets, etc., and soliciting, providing services and information by telephone and e-mail), marketing activities (marketing activities are defined as sending questionnaires, soliciting, providing services and information by telephone and e-mail), and other activities related to the event.
(5) Various communications, guidance, etc. in public relations activities
(6) Other activities necessary to achieve the purposes of the Association.

2. Provision of information to contractors

The Association may provide personal information (company name, department name, title, name, and e-mail address) to Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. as a subcontractor of the Association’s business to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use described in 1. above, and the Association will supervise the handling of personal information at the subcontractor under its responsibility.

3. Safety Management Measures

(1)TMIP will take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information handled and to otherwise safely manage personal information as follows

  • In areas where personal data is handled, we control the access of employees, limit the equipment they may bring into the office, and take measures to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing personal data.
  • Measures are taken to prevent theft or loss of equipment, electronic media, and documents that handle personal data, and to ensure that personal data is not easily discovered when such equipment, electronic media, etc. are carried, including during transportation within the business site.
  • Implement access control to limit the scope of persons in charge and the personal information database, etc. handled.
  • Implement mechanisms to protect information systems that handle personal data from unauthorized external access or unauthorized software.

(2)When having its employees handle personal information, the Association establishes rules, etc. for the handling of personal information to ensure the safe management of such personal information, periodically inspects the handling status, and conducts necessary and appropriate supervision, including periodic training of such employees.
(3)When handling personal information in foreign countries, the Association regularly collects and understands information on the personal information protection systems of those countries, and implements safety control measures.

2. Provision of information to contractors

The Association may provide personal information (company name, department name, title, name, and e-mail address) to Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. as a subcontractor of the Association’s business to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use described in 1. above, and the handling of personal information by the subcontractor will be supervised under the responsibility of the Association.

4. Safety Management Measures

(2) When having its employees handle personal information, the Association establishes rules, etc. for the handling of personal information, periodically inspects the handling status, and conducts necessary and appropriate supervision, including periodic training of its employees, to ensure the safe management of such personal information.

Terms of Participation

Article 1 (Purpose and Definitions)

  1. The purpose of this Agreement is to set forth the terms and conditions of participation in events offered by TMIP Association. (hereinafter referred to as “TMIP”).
  2. The following terms used in these Terms and Conditions shall be defined as set forth in this section.
    1. Applicant” means a person who applies to participate in an Event offered by the Association in accordance with Article 3.
    2. Personal Information” means information obtained by the Association from the Applicant that falls under the category of ‘personal information’ as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Act No. 57 of 2003).
    3. A “Participant” means a person who has agreed to these Terms and Conditions, has applied, registered, and paid the Participation Fee in accordance with the prescribed procedures, and whose registration has been approved by the Association.

Article 2 (Contents of Service)

  1. The Association shall provide the following services related to the operation of Events
    1. Recruitment of applicants and acceptance of registrations
    2. Participation fee collection
    3. Operation and management of event registration site
    4. Other operations incidental to the above
  2. Participants shall participate in the event in accordance with these terms and conditions. If an applicant or participant violates these Terms and Conditions, the Association may prohibit such applicant or participant from participating in future events (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Eligibility”).
  3. The Association reserves the right to change the content of the Event at any time by posting a notice on the website operated and managed by the Association (URL: “https://www.tmip.jp/ja/”). Participants agree in advance that such changes may prevent them from participating in existing events and may cause disadvantages to them, and they shall not object to such changes.
  4. The Association reserves the right to change the content of the Event at any time if it is necessary to do so due to the enactment, amendment, or abolition of laws and regulations. The Participant agrees in advance that such changes may make the existing Event unavailable and may cause disadvantages to the Participant, and shall not object to such changes.
  5. Users shall bear the communication and connection fees incurred when applying for or participating in an event.

Article 3 (Application for Events)

  1. The applicant shall apply for participation in the event in the manner prescribed by the Association after agreeing to the terms and conditions set forth in these Terms and Conditions. The applicant shall be deemed to have agreed to these Terms and Conditions at the time the application for participation in the event is submitted.
  2. The Association prohibits applications for participation by organized crime groups, companies affiliated with organized crime groups, general assemblymen, or their related parties, or other similar parties (hereinafter referred to as “antisocial forces”).
  3. The Association will not accept any application for participation by any of the following.
    1. If there is any falsehood in the application details or any other information reported or notified to the Association.
    2. If it is found that the applicant has been suspended from participation by the Association in the past due to a violation of these Terms of Use or other reasons.
    3. If the Association determines, for any reason whatsoever, that there is a problem with the operation of the event.
    4. If the Participant violates these Terms of Use.
    5. If it is found that the applicant was an anti-social force at the time of application or became an anti-social force after the application.
    6. In any other cases where the Association deems the participant to be unsuitable.
  4. The Association shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred by the applicant or any third party due to the applicant’s inability to participate in the event as a result of the measures taken by the Association in the preceding paragraph. In addition, the applicant shall bear all legal responsibility for any damages incurred by the association or any third party due to any of the actions described in the preceding paragraphs.

Article 4 (Cancellation after Registration)

  1. No refund of registration fee will be accepted after the event has started.
  2. If the event is cancelled at the discretion of the Association, the participation fee will be refunded in full.

Article 5 (Cancellation of Registration)

  1. The Association reserves the right to immediately cancel a registration without prior notice to the Participant in the event that any of the following events occur no refund of the registration fee will be made in the event that the Association cancels the registration pursuant to this Article.
    1. If there is any false information in the application or any other information reported or notified to the Association.
    2. If it is found that the Participant has been suspended by the Association in the past due to a violation of these Rules and Regulations.
    3. If the Association determines, for any reason whatsoever, that there is a problem with the operation of the event.
    4. If the Participant violates these Terms of Use.
    5. If it is found that the Participant was an anti-social force at the time of registration or became an anti-social force after registration.
    6. Any other cases in which the Association deems the Participant to be unqualified.
  2. The Association shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred by the Participant or any third party due to the Participant’s inability to participate in the Event as a result of the measures taken by the Association in the preceding paragraph. In addition, if any damage is caused to the Association or any third party as a result of any of the actions described in the preceding paragraphs, the relevant Participant shall bear all legal responsibility for such damage.

Article 6 (Prohibited Matters)

  1. Participants shall not do any of the following (hereinafter referred to as “Prohibited Matters”) in participating in the Event. The Association shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Participant’s Prohibited Matters. The Association shall not be liable for any disadvantage incurred by the Participant as a result of the Participant’s Prohibited Activities. In addition, the Association may demand compensation from the Participant for any loss or damage incurred by the Participant as a result of the Participant’s Prohibited Activities.
    1. Infringing the intellectual property rights of the Association or any third party, including but not limited to software provided by the Association for the Event or otherwise
    2. Any act that infringes on the property, privacy, or portrait rights of the Participant, a third party, or the Association
    3. Any act that discriminates against or defames the Participant, any third party, or the Association
    4. Any act that defames the credibility or reputation of the Participant, a third party, or the Association
    5. Pre-election campaigning, election campaigning, or similar activities
    6. Religious or political or business solicitation matters
    7. Transmission or posting of virus programs or other harmful programs, etc.
    8. Providing information or content provided through the event to a third party
    9. Any act that interferes with the use or operation of the Association’s or any third party’s equipment, facilities, etc., or facilities for the Event, or any other act that interferes with or hinders the normal operation of the Event.
    10. Any act that violates these Terms and Conditions or any law or ordinance or public order and morals
    11. Any act that causes disadvantage or damage to the Association or any third party
    12. Criminal acts or acts that lead to or encourage criminal acts
    13. Act of impersonating a third party or other act of illegally sending or receiving a third party’s information
    14. Other acts that are similar to or may fall under any of the above-mentioned acts.
  2. Any dispute between a Participant and a third party arising from any of the prohibited acts described in the preceding paragraph shall be resolved at the Participant’s sole responsibility and expense, and the Association shall not be liable for any such dispute.

Article 7 (Compensation for Damages)

  1. If a Participant causes trouble or damage to a third party, the Association or the event venue, the Participant shall resolve the problem at the Participant’s own expense and responsibility and shall compensate the Association for such damage.
  2. The Association shall not be liable for any damage caused by accident, theft, etc. while the Participant is participating in the event. However, if the damage is caused by a reason attributable to the Association, the Association shall be liable for compensation up to the amount equivalent to the participation fee for the event in question.

Article 8 (Handling of Personal Information and Portrait Rights)

  1. The Association shall handle personal information of participants appropriately in accordance with the Privacy Policy separately stipulated.
  2. The Participant agrees that the Association and the co-sponsoring companies may take photographs and videos of the event (including images of the Participant) for the purpose of using them for recording, advertising, media coverage, etc. of the event, and may provide such photographs and videos to the media for use on the website.
  3. The rights to publish videos, photos, articles, and records of the event on TV, newspapers, magazines, the Internet, etc. shall belong to the Association and the co-sponsoring companies.

Article 9 (Self-responsibility)

  1. Participants shall use the contents and other information provided by the Association or third parties through the Event at their own responsibility.
  2. If a Participant has any injury, illness, disability, pregnancy, or any other physical or mental disorder, the Participant shall consult a physician in advance and decide whether or not to use the Event at his/her own responsibility.

Article 10 (Intellectual Property Rights)

  1. Intellectual property rights, including copyrights and trademarks, and all other tangible and intangible property rights related to all programs, software, information, content, screen designs, logos, etc. provided by the Association on its website (collectively, the “Provided Content”) shall be owned by the Association or any third party that has licensed the same to the Association (collectively, “Rights”).
  2. Unless otherwise authorized by the Association, you may not reproduce, copy, reprint, or modify, sell, or redistribute the Content provided, in whole or in part, without the prior written permission of the Right Holder.

Article 11 (Prohibition of Assignment of Rights and Obligations, etc.)

A Participant may not assign its rights or obligations as a Participant to any third party, change the name of such third party, succeed to such third party’s rights or obligations, or otherwise dispose of or offer as collateral any of such rights or obligations.

Article 12 (Suspension, Postponement, or Cancellation of the Event at the Association’s discretion)

  1. The association may temporarily suspend, postpone, or cancel the event (hereinafter referred to as “Temporary Suspension, etc.”) without prior notice to the participants in the event of any of the following events
    1. In case of urgent maintenance of facilities, etc.
    2. In the event of fire, power outage, etc., which makes the provision of the Event impossible.
    3. In the event that the Event cannot be provided due to a force majeure such as a natural disaster.
    4. In any other cases where the Association deems it necessary to temporarily suspend the Event due to operational or technical reasons.
  2. The Association shall not be liable for any loss or damage incurred by the Participant due to the temporary suspension of the Event in accordance with the preceding paragraph.
  3. The Association shall not refund the Participation Fee to the Participant even if the Event is temporarily suspended in accordance with Paragraph 1.

Article 13 (Modification of Terms and Conditions)

  1. The Association reserves the right to change or add to the Terms and Conditions at any time by posting a notice on the Association’s website, without obtaining the approval of the applicant or participant. The amended Terms and Conditions shall become effective from the time they are posted to the applicants and participants.
  2. In the event that any part of these Terms and Conditions is in conflict with any mandatory law or regulation, such part shall be deemed to have been modified in accordance with the provisions of such law or regulation.

Article 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

  1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
  2. The Tokyo District Court shall be the court of exclusive jurisdiction for litigation and arbitration of any disputes related to these Terms and Conditions.
